An airline passenger said he wanted to slap the man who refused to switch seats so he could sit next to his wife

A man who was unable to book two airline seats next to each other so he could sit next to his wife has become frustrated after another passenger refused to switch seats.

Jay Kloss and his wife Zoe were separated in the business class section of a Virgin Australia flight after they were unable to fit two seats next to each other. Jay was in the aisle while Zoe was seated by the window in the same row but on opposite sides of the plane.

There were eight business class seats and no middle seats.

Jay posted a video on TikTok detailing the incident and asked his followers if he was wrong to ask other passengers to switch seats.

He said, “I wanted to slap him.”

He explained that when he booked the flight, the other two aisle and window seats were reserved. Jay hypothesized that he would be able to switch seats with a passenger because that person would end up in the same seat on the other side of the plane.

“It doesn’t matter, Zoe and I are sitting together… Wrong,” Jay said.

When the couple boarded, Jay said he politely asked the man in the aisle seat, “Hey bro, would you mind moving so I can sit with my lady? It’s her birthday.”

Jay continued, “He just looked at me and didn’t respond.” Then he says, “No. I will not do. But I’ll sit here,” he said, referring to Zoe’s seat by the window.

However, Jay explained that Zoe always sits near the window to avoid nausea.

“So, he’ll make us sit on both sides of the aisle, for no reason. It’s the same seat,” Jay said. Anyway, I’m like, ‘Brother, really? Are you sure you can’t switch seats with us? He just doesn’t respond to me.

Zoe then took her seat by the window next to the man and asked him if there was a problem and if it was possible to switch seats since it was her birthday and she wanted to sit with her husband.

The man allegedly told her, “No problem. Just don’t move.”

Jay then asked his followers, “Am I missing something? Can someone explain to me what the hell is going on here? It’s the same seat, just on a different side of the aisle.”

But the couple ended up sitting next to each other, as the person in the window seat next to Jay offered to switch with Zoe.
