Commenting on the decision to host Samuel at the historic Lewis School Pengam, shadow education minister Laura Anne Jones MS said: “It is deeply concerning that this is happening in schools in Wales” and “quite inappropriate for him to be in this kind of environment”.
“The first question to ask is why is it necessary to have a drag queen in a school setting. There are so many better and more appropriate models out there,” she said.
“Our children deserve so much better than having a notoriously biased, deeply sexist individual come in to indoctrinate them and talk about sensitive topics, like suicide and sex.”
However, while Wales is ruled by the Labor Party, drag queens are still often invited to schools in neighboring England, where the Jones Conservative Party takes charge of education.
