Exclusive: Rep. Fry Blasts ‘Reckless’ DA for Targeting Trump While ‘Choosing Not to Prosecute’ Others
Representative Russell Frey (R-SC) targeted Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg over SiriusXM’s website Breitbart News Saturday After former President Donald Trump announced Saturday morning that he expects to be arrested next week in connection with the Prague office’s investigation into a silent money scheme involving Stormy Daniels.
“I think it’s unprecedented, and I think it’s tragic,” Frey said. “You have a beleaguered prosecutor who has been attacked by him and really everyone for his conduct in office.”
He listens:
Frey continued, “I think they minimize crimes, they choose not to prosecute certain crimes, and you know, as you mentioned earlier, he’s funded by Soros, and here we are reviving an eight-year-old case that many law enforcement agencies and prosecutors have refused to prosecute. I think it’s unprecedented.” And I really think he’s reckless.”
Frey is a freshman congressman who was backed by Trump in a race he handily won last year against former Rep. Tom Rice (R-South Sudan), who was one of the 10 House Republicans who voted to impeach Trump on Jan. 6. riot.
Frey, an attorney, now serves on two of the largest House investigative committees, the Judiciary Committee and the Oversight Committee.
When asked by host Matthew Boyle if congressional Republicans on the committees could take action with the Manhattan attorney general’s office in light of Trump’s announcement, Frey said they could examine any federal coordination that may have occurred in the case.
“I think you could, especially if there was some effort on the federal side to coordinate with the attorney general’s office. I think it certainly would be — but I think it goes back to a kind of fear that a lot of people have about having two different types of judges,” Frey said.
He pointed to other controversies, including the Justice Department’s handling of documents marked classified that were discovered in the residences of both Trump and President Joe Biden.
“I think people get anxious when they see this kind of activity going on from a law enforcement perspective. If justice is really so blind, you know, why do we have two sets of, or in this case, very similar pattern of facts, but two different outcomes?” Frey asked.
House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) issued a statement this afternoon confirming that House Republicans will indeed launch investigations into Bragg’s office, calling Bragg “a dagradaically allowing violent criminals to walk while he seeks political revenge against President Trump.”
Here we go again – an outrageous abuse of power by a radical DA who lets violent criminals walk as he seeks political revenge against President Trump.

McCarthy noted that the investigations will be related to whether federal funds are being used to “undermine our democracy by interfering with elections with politically motivated prosecutions.”
